Dear Editor,
I’m writing to tell you about the discussion we’ve had about whether middle school students should learn English or not.
Most of the students approve of it for the reason that on one hand, English is one of the widely spoken language in the world. English is becoming more and more important. On the other hand, If we have studied English well, we can know about different countries’ histories, cultures and so on.
However, the minority of the students are strongly against it. Because they think learning English wastes a lot of time and energy. and not everyone likes English. What’s more, even though they have learned English, they will hardly make use of it in the future.
